An upcoming yearly meeting of the American Society for Neural Therapy and Repair is aiming to focus on stem cell therapy and brain repair topics at their upcoming gathering. The American Society for Neural Therapy and Repair, also known as ASNTR is a nearly 15-year-old society that was founded in 1993 for the development and pioneering of therapies as well as biological treatments and the study of neurological disorders. The society includes members of both clinical and basic neuroscience fields who use a variety of old and new technologies to gain a greater understanding of nervous system functions as well as to help develop new procedures in the response and repair of neurodegenerative diseases or trauma to brain tissues.
This year, the society is going to be focusing on stem cells and cell therapy, as well as gene therapy and biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of neurological disease, injuries, and conditions. The collaboration between personal and working relationships of members and facilities has proven to be a lucrative common ground for those searching for increased awareness and education in the development of stem cell therapies for use in repairing damaged brain tissues.

Says Paul Sandberg, Executive Director and past president of ASNTR, "Our meeting is relatively small, which allows for interaction among attendees" Such interaction is at the crux of increasing methods and approaches to forging full steam ahead in stem cell therapy research as it pertains to brain tissue repair.
