After recent news that New York had been granted a state license from the purpose of adult stem cell collection by a corporation called NeoStem in New York, a corporation called Cord Blood America has also focused on bringing the benefits of saving such potentially important stem cells for a variety of reasons to both national and international proliferation. The corporation believes that the discovery of the potential use of such stem cells discovered in 2007 will proliferate in coming years. Matthew Schissler, the chief executive officer of Cord Blood America says, "We look forward to more states requiring their health department to inform families about the benefits of umbilical cord blood storage, which is safe and not come controversial. We salute this coast-to-coast effort in providing solid, reliable information to potential new parents." In the past, umbilical cords, and after birth, have been discarded as useless in birthing rooms around the world. However, those very same umbilical cords now offer live to millions. Cord Blood America is a company that promotes and makes available umbilical cord blood stem cell preservation from expectant parents. Cord blood stem cells are collected through a noninvasive process, though one that offers potentially life-saving resources for an increasing number of disorders and diseases common throughout the world. The acceptance of using non-embryonic stem cells for research and development as well as for potential cures is something that every person can benefit from. |
