Why do we need Maternal blood tests?

As part of the collection process we also need to receive the first maternal blood test result. The first can be done either 30 days prior to the birth or up to 7 days after your baby is born. We then repeat the test six months later when a new maternal blood sample is required. These tests are required under EU legislation and are undertaken to ensure the cells are healthy and pose no risk to potential recipients.

The cost of all testing is included in our service fee.

Maternal blood tests are taken and screened for  HIV, syphilis, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HTLV (Human T-Cell Lympotrophic Virus).We undertake them to ensure the cells are healthy and pose no risk to potential recipients.

We ask for two maternal blood tests,

1st Blood Test 

Taklen 30 days prior to the birth or up to 7 days after a

2nd Blood Test
