A press release from the Society for Biological Engineering, has announced that it will be organizing the very first International Conference on Stem Cell Engineering later this month. The conference, which has invited members and researchers from various corporations, universities, and governments to Coronado Island in Southern California, will focus on stem cell production engineering designs that will enable scientists to move forward from laboratory research to processes that create usable stem cell therapies for a huge range of afflictions and diseases that affect millions of people around the world. The conference personifies the dedication and focus of scientists and researchers from different cultures in understanding biological stem cell processes as well as the advancements of technologies that help to study such stem cell functions for commercial application processes. Keynote speakers will discuss topics of pathological and developmental biology as well as biological engineering, and the improvement of general health care as a direct result of stem cell science and technology research. The Executive Director of the Society for biological engineering states, "…there is also so much to be done in terms of propagating stem cells, and applying what we know to tissue engineering, cell therapy, and drug development." |
