The use of stem cells can be beneficial in cosmetic procedures as well as any biological procedure. Since the 1990s, the uses of stem cells have been used for a variety of reasons, and may now also be used to treat hair loss. Stem cells are the basic blocks within our body, with each human starting out as a stem cell and dividing into millions of cells over time. The older the human body gets, the more stem cells decrease, causing issues like heart attacks, cancer or strokes. Using stem cells can be beneficial for variety of diseases or illnesses that still have not been prevented by research or a known cure. By using a stem cell therapy, doctors can replace damaged or dead cells in the body with the new cells. In the case of hair loss, dead cells prevent the growth of hair, which in turn causes baldness. By replacing the dead cells with new ones through stem cell therapy, baldness can be prevented or hair growth can be rejuvenated. As with any medical technology, the use of stem cells to prevent balding is both successful and still undergoing further research. During a medical procedure, some stems cells are made and then injected into the bald areas of the scalp. While all the stem cell therapy may not always be successful on the first try, doctors are usually able to continue the process in order to be successful. Anyone interested in stem cell therapy for baldness or any other scalp problems should always contact a dermatologist for further advice. |
